Vintage Tip Tuesday XVI

There's nothing that screams chic like a pair of unique boots. Most women own the staple black knee- high boots, but stop there. With all the colors, heights, and styles to be found in vintage shops, vintage online sites, and flea markets, I love to add pizazz to my outfits by wearing an interesting and unexpected boot. Going vintage guarantees that everyone and their mother won't have those same boots in their closet. You'll stand out and bring intrigue to your outfits.

Boots have existed for centuries but styles have evolved and been added to the pallette of options throughout the years. We have the Victorian lace-up (granny boot) from the beginning of the 20th century, the go go boot of the sixties, the thigh-high of seventies, the slouchy bootie of the eighties and the military Doc Martin of the nineties. Fortunately we have the possibility of wearing any of these styles and can find them all if we patiently search vintage stores. Each gives us a different feel: thigh high boots show off a dangerous side; knee high boots speak class; booties always add instant edge; boots that tie up offer casual flair. With autumn here, it's time to take fashion chances and wear a snazzy vintage boot that everyone will take notice of. No more Uggs. Happy vintage boot hunting!!!
