Vintage Tip Tuesday XIII

Want to help out an important cause for free????!!!!! That's right! It won't cost you a penny to help in the fight against breat cancer...and you'll have a cleaner closet with room for that next vintage shopping spree.

Donate your gently used clothing or household items to the American Cancer Society Discovery Shop. For the month of October, all proceeds are donated to breast cancer research. Although a thrift store, they often look more like a used clothing boutique because of the cleanliness and organization standards they uphold. I have found some amazing vintage pieces here for great prices, so when you're donating, make sure you check out their stock.

For locations near you visit www.cancer.org

or...

Donate your wedding dresses, veils, and bridal related items to Brides Against Breast Cancer. They will sell them at a discounted price and use the money from the sale to fund the wishes of those ailing from metastatic breast cancer.

For more info visit www.bridesagainstbreastcancer.org

No matter your age (I was diagnosed at 26), don't forget to do regular self-examinations and do not procrastinate on mammograms. Your life is too valuable to not be taken seriously.

Me as a baldy when I had breast cancer.
A cancer girl can still look chic with a vintage scarf!

We have lost many starlets to breast cancer including Bette Davis, Ingrid Bergman, Judy Holliday, Vivian Vance, Hattie McDaniel and Rosalind Russell.
Through breast cancer research, however, there have also thankfully been many survivors.
